SELF-ESTEEM

Next we  discuss self-esteem and various factors that may affect it. We discuss the influence of family, friends and teachers on our self-esteem. We look at characteristics of people with high or low self-esteem and discuss what healthy self-esteem should look like. Students shared ideas about situations that can cause someone with healthy self-esteem to have a dip in his or her self-esteem. We learned that a hallmark of someone with healthy self-esteem is being able to accept your strengths and weaknesses.  Next, students will identify ten of their personal strengths.  They are encouraged to reflect on their abilities as well as their relationships with others.
